Fishing in the Seychelles

Approximately 50% of the Seychelles are nature reserves. This is a unique destination for any fisherman in gorgeous surroundings with a multitude of angling opportunities. A paradise for the all-round fisherman. Thanks to the experience gained over many years we have marked many a hot-spot for you on our charts and plotters. We offer full-day and half-day trolling, jigging and popper fishing charters. Our fishing trips includes snacks, beverages and fruits.

When trolling lures you may usually expect to catch tuna, bonito, mahi mahi, wahoo, sailfish and marlin.

Your targets when jigging or popper fishing will be dogtooth tuna, amberjack and GTs (plus numerous other species as by-catch).

Please note that the high season is from September to May due to the prevailing winds.

If you don’t have your own tackle for this type of fishing or don’t want to invest in new gear for just one trip, we would be pleased to supply you with the right equipment for a flat-rate of 50 Euro a day.

Special Jigging Packs can be purchases from us

For customers who do not want to bring extra jigs and weight with them for their trip, we offer two finely tuned and proven jigging packs incl. hooks and splittrings (ready to go) at a price of 100 Euro and 170 Euro.

Fishing Seasons

January – In January, you can expect some of the heaviest rainfalls of the year, accompanied by warm temperatures and relatively calm seas. Anglers on the southern islands should keep an eye out for cyclones.

February – Seychelles’ wet season continues. Now’s your chance to enjoy smooth sailing and a variety of game fish, from marlin and tuna to snapper, jobfish, and more.

March – Marlin and mahi mahi are at their peak, as the northwest monsoon season carries on.

April – As the winds begin to change direction, you can enjoy some of the calmest weather of the year. April is a great time to experience the variety in these waters, from tasty reef fish to big game trophies.

May – It’s the dry season in the Seychelles, but strong winds can make offshore trips risky at times. Charter cancellations are higher at this time of year due to the weather.

June – If you manage to make it offshore on a relatively calm day, you’ll spend your time trolling for sailfish, marlin and tuna. Weather conditions usually don’t allow for other fishing techniques during the dry season.

July – Sailfish are at their peak, which makes this a great time to try trolling along the edge of the drop off or inshore along the plateau. Light tackle anglers can enjoy popping for Giant Trevally closer to shore.

August – The southeast monsoon season continues, with dry, windy days in the forecast for weeks ahead. Weather permitting, you can still score some big game fishing while trolling offshore.

September – Local weather continues to be the biggest obstacle for anglers in the Seychelles eagerly awaiting their chance to head offshore and target a wider variety of fish.

October – Tired of trolling yet? Then you’ll be glad to know that the seasons are turning and better days are ahead! As calmer weather sets in you’ll be able to try jigging and bottom fishing for some table fare.

November – November is one of the best times to visit the Seychelles, when the weather is fair and you have a chance to catch local fish in a variety of ways – from bottom fishing, jigging, and popping to fly fishing.

December – Big game fish like marlin, tuna, and mahi mahi are at their peak in December. Take advantage of the weather and head to the drop off for a hook-up to remember!
